The next milestone will be hitting the 8 GB mark!

I prefer the zip no install version, for the sake of consistency

@Marco
Is there
any manual work on your side required?
I'm working on a downloader atm that does everything on it's own
- No visible window, only a tray icon (with notifications if enabled), so that it is easy to quit
- Downloading official and beta (if enabled) releases
- Extracting, getting the UTC compiled time of XYplorer.exe
- Calculating the hashes (.exe + .zip) and finally renaming and moving the downloaded .zip
into the final destination (root archive path + creating necessary destination folders for major/minor releases)
- The timer to check is ofc configurable (value = seconds)
The .ini looks like this:
Code: Select all
IntervalCheck=300
IncludeBetaVersions=1
ArchivePath=T:\backup\all\XYplorer Archive
ShowTrayNotifications=1
OfficialVersionURL=https://www.xyplorer.com/version.php
BetaVersionURL=https://www.xyplorer.com/version_beta.php
In other words: Run and forget and if more users use it, we shouldn't loose any release anymore...
All things are working so far, just working on the logging and a bit of polishing...

Hey there!
Currently, there's
almost no manual work on my side, because:
-I used Enternal's utility (see first post) to monitor and download new betas to an "Incoming" folder, which I purge when needed
-when I run my updater script, I have an "on restart" script that renames the zip according to the rule and moves it to an "Archive" folder
My manual intervention comes when I upload the builds to GDrive, because I don't use their app to sync a local folder (personal choice) to the cloud but I do everything via browser, and so creating the folder structure too.
I keep the computer on all (European) day long, so the times I missed a release was because I lost the Internet connection at home and don't even realize it when, at work, I don't have the time to log in remotely via TeamViewer.
It would certainly be cool if more users use it because redundancy never hurts

Thanks Marco.
I will publish it when it's done. YAUM itself isn't necessary anymore since XY knows how to update
itself

If you want to support Marco, use it and if he ever requires a version, XY_Update downloader
should have caught it. The .zip name is already in the correct format (containing dates, checksums, etc.)...

Just a little remainder: the Archive contains, as of now, 2977 builds, at about one month before its sixth birthday and with the upcoming XYplorer 20 behind the corner.
A huge thank you to those who made this possible!
