Ok, will give it a try then.
It didn't say anywhere that the installation of youtube-dl GUI would install all the prerequisites along the way.

Should anyone still be interested I've written a small script that acts as a tiny GUI to youtube-dl.
I develop scripts that integrate media functionality into Xyplorer.

Definitely interested! I had downloaded youtube-dl a while back but never got around to setting it up. Oops sorry, I now see you already posted it on the first post. Thanks.

But youtube-dl supports much more video sites, please don't limit it to youtube only :?

Seems like there's a bit of an issue with Youtube videos in a playlist. youtube-dl wants to download all meta data for all videos in that list. Can take a while.

There's no limitation if you look at the code. You can input any link but some sites won't work. Liveleak works fine but haven't tested any others.
