Thanks for the extra color tags. I use color tags extensively for my file management and this opens up so many more options.

Cool feature!
How true!
If I may emphasize even more details:

Code: Select all

v18.70.0000 - 2018-01-23 15:00
      ...
+++ Filename Length Info. Now you can have a little info bar at the right end
of the inline rename box showing the current length of the filename and
also (in parentheses) the length of the full path. The bar turns red when
the item name is overlong (longer than 259 characters) and warns you if
you enter characters that are not valid in a filename.
Overview always is king and this little but awesome feature helps to have more of such effective overview of what is going on. Therefore it is Over-Awesome!! Didn't ask for it, but a nice surprise: THANK YOU, Don!

Code: Select all

+ Customize Toolbar | Options | Show Button Captions: Added an additional submenu "Number of Caption Lines" where you can choose from 1 to 4 lines.
Love this! I didn't know it was an option until it was added to the UI in this latest release. I have a 40" 4K display and have quite a few icons on my toolbar which I really like, but now being able to see the captions on a few lines makes ALL of the icons more easily distinguishable and usable for me.

Out of curiosity, is there a way to tweak the font-size of the caption lines? I looked but didn't see anything. I'd like to be able to make the text smaller than what I currently see because my display would support it.

Thanks again for all the awesome features! XYPlorer is by far the most fully-featured file explorer I've ever seen.

Code: Select all

+++ Drag Status Box: Experimentally added something to the mouse pointer while
dragging stuff and hovering over a potential target. It tells you how many
items are being dragged and what's the target full path.

+ Drag Status Box: You can tweak the colors at key DragStatusClasses. This is
      the factory default:
        DragStatusClasses=5495DC|FEA311|81409C|A0A0A0
like this! especially as only with tweak, and as with appearing of this feature i got to know about Ctrl/Shift-operation-modifiers, present for some time.

Code: Select all

v18.80.0000 - 2018-03-05 12:00
= NEW OFFICIAL RELEASE. Main developments since last release:
+++ Open Throw Away Clone. Now you can open a clone of the current XYplorer
instance in read-only mode. You can use such a clone for quick in-between
jobs that should not affect your main configuration. Highly useful.
  ...
  Should be really useful in theory. Time to put it to the test in real life. Thank you, Don.

Dear Don

Just a note to say thanks for such a wonderful product. I often think about writing to thank you - but this time I am doing it - prompted by 18.90 release with the "Prevent Unwanted Dragging" features.

Oh boy - but you were reading me well when you came up with these options.

XYplorer is an amazing piece of work. I keep saying I will "study" it properly and optomise my use of it. But the reality is - I keep learning as I go along - one useful feature after another.

Continued good fortunes.

Open Throw Away Clone!
Love it. Nice simple solution to running separate instances of XYplorer for long-running searches.
Running on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit quad-core ASUS G752-VY notebook with 64 GB RAM, over 26 external USB3 drives attached via multiple powered hubs with letters and mount points, totaling 120+ TB.
