I have my active tab background set to match the breadcrumb bar and that color (for me, white light mode and black for dark mode) such that color also matches my XYplorer list panel background. I like the non-adaptive colors for dark mode since they're mild and a bit less harsh. The adaptive colors in dark mode tend ot be too loud or bold. The problem is if I uncheck adaptive colors, the breadcrumb bar is white in dark mode (see the 2nd pic). This is obviously tied in with "match the selected tab with breadcrumb bar" selected. If I unselect "match..." setting, then I don't get the same background color of the list panel BC and selected tab.
Don, is there anything that could be done with that? Would it be possible to get "non"-adaptive colors yet keep my breadcrumb dark in dark mode and white in light mode such that the list panel, BC, and active tab are all the same - black in dark mode white in light mode when adaptive colors is unchecked. So essentially, I'm looking for the backgrounds of the 1st pic but with the tab non-adaptive colors of the 2nd pic.
See the pics below - their titles hopefully reflect the state. Thanks.

It's (meant to be) the opposite.

Re: Breadcrumb bar background in dark mode with adaptive colors off
What you see above for the adaptive screen shot and the "non" adaptive is what is still have. I'd still like to have the more subdued colors that you can see above (lower pic) with adaptive colors off, but for whatever reason when doing that, results in the BC bar being a white background. As explained discussed, I prefer having the active tab background matching the list panel and BC bar because you tend to see the active tab more readily since the same background color flows into the list panel and BC. My tab backgrounds in light mode are more mellow I suppose so when adaptive is ON, they become more boldened.

Re: Breadcrumb bar background in dark mode with adaptive colors off
Thanks, tried but it didn't really help to pin down the issue. Particularly I could not reproduce how adaptive colors would come out harsher than non-adaptive colors. It's simply not the case. Adaptive colors are always darker and less saturated.

Re: Breadcrumb bar background in dark mode with adaptive colors off
OK Don, thanks for looking at it. Regardless of tab colors, would there be any way to make the BC bar respond and go dark in Dark mode when adaptive mode is off as it does in adaptive mode is on? I'm not sure why the BC background in dark mode has to be tied to adaptive colors being on.

Re: Breadcrumb bar background in dark mode with adaptive colors off
Well, it's a while ago that these decisions were made. The whole color situation is very complex. Unless many users complain I see no point in going into it and changing a system that seems work perfectly for many years now.

OK Don thanks, I just thought it odd that the BC background was linked to "adaptive colors" in that way.
