Hello,
I'm testing XYPlorer and in general it looks very good. But one topic is not as "global" as expected: the explorer replacement.
Sorry to say it, but here Opus dir should be the benchmark. (I'm sure you do not like this comparison )
In general I like xyplorer more, so would be nice to have deeper explorer replacement also in xyplorer. (At the moment I'm testing both tools and have to take a decision then....)
Examples where explorer replacement does not work in XYPlorer (but e.g. in Opus dir):
- The windows standard shortcut "This computer" on the desktop
- pCloud icon in the system tray (so I guess in general system tray icons will still launch explorer instead of xyplorer)
Is there a no go or could it be possible to improve XYPlorer for this topic?
PS: I know that it is not possible to replace open/save dialogs in other software. I think that this is not necessary, but all other classic explorer usages should be replaceable in my opinion.

Re: Deeper explorer replacement
I wouldn't say a no go, but a no go now. These are nice-to-have to me, but but not essential.

Until then, Mosed, you could try this work around with AutoHotkey:
