Constant Size Bars color.
Constant Size Bars color.
When I pick some light color for selection background it lightens size bars, and when I pick a dark color, it darkens them which in both cases lowers the contrast and makes it harder to distinguish. That doesn't seem to happen with Icons. I think Size Bars should learn from Icons and stop falling under selection influence.

Re: Constant Size Bars color.
The bars are semi-transparent exactly to work with all backgrounds. Some are work better than others but that cannot be avoided without really changing the colors, which leads to other problems.

Re: Constant Size Bars color.
May I ask you to temporarily/experimentally add a tweak disabling the transparency?

Re: Constant Size Bars color.
You may ask but I won't do it. I cannot see any improvement here (but many problems).

Re: Constant Size Bars color.
How about giving it the color of the text as an option? Seems to work pretty good for stars.
PS: My point is that there is no need for those bars to work with every background possible, only with the current one what the current text color already does by definition, otherwise you couldn't see the text, right?

Re: Constant Size Bars color.
Here is the comparison.
IMHO the coolest way would be to leave it as it is when unselected but change to the text color (w/o transparency) when selected.
This way not only the bars themselves become better recognizable but also the fact of the selection.

Re: Constant Size Bars color.
This would even follow existing rules for Color Filters, i.e. when you select items, it doesn't care what the color was and enforces the Selected Text color.

Re: Constant Size Bars color.
All your issues come from using Full Row Select mode. Which is probably why nobody else is interested.
But I admit, it looks like a good idea to use the text color for the selected items in that mode. I'll test that...

Re: Constant Size Bars color.
It seems odd that anyone would not want "full row select".
Re: Constant Size Bars color.
I always use "Full row select" if a tool provides it.
But I don't care about all that fancy coloring stuff
which I don't normaly need for file management.

Re: Constant Size Bars color.
File Explorer has Full Row Select by default (and you cannot turn it off AFAIK). That alone makes it unusable.
