When editing these, I can't enter Unicode-characters (I just get "?" instead of the desired characters) with the keyboard. Pasting works fine and it passes those characters correctly when executing the command - it would be nice if I could also enter them directly.
(Sorry, can't give an easily reproduceable example - I'm using a special kbd-driver. I may be able to send you something, I you need, Don...)

Not sure which interface you are talking about. AFAIK they are all Unicode compliant. Got a screenshot?

Yes, that's a known issue that those edit boxes don't support some of those "special kbd-drivers".
