Explain visual tags in manual

I don't know what I've done, but I suddenly have a vertical bar in front of a folder in the tree, and I've gone through the every menu that toggles anything, but I cannot get rid of it. So

1) What is it?
2) How did it get there?
3) Why isn't there a "screenprint" like image in the help that explains every element, and the way to toggle it?

A blue bar tends to denote a copied file/folder?
