With the settings I mentioned above (Full Row Select ticked and HighlightHoveredItems=1), "Full Row Select" works in detailed view but does not in list view (i.e., it doesn't actually select the file when you click outside the filename area in list view). However, since my last entry I found out that I can select the file in list view if the setting "Full name column select" is checked in Menus, Mouse, Usability in Configuration. "Full name column select" setting does not have to be checked to select the filename outside the filename in Detailed View. That's fine with me.

Yes, Full Row Select always only applied to the Details view.

IMO too complicated. I found another way... next beta...jaywalker32 wrote: ↑13 Nov 2019 14:11What if left-click on hover-highlighted-whitespace selects the file, but double-click and right-click on whitespace stays the same (i.e don't select)?

Once you move it to gui, is it going to have customizable colors? Because in some dark OS themes, the highlight is not very visible.

Maybe at a later phase.
Can you show a screenshot showing how it not very visible?

The 5th file is highlighted. I think since the highlight is like a 'darker' shade of the list background color, in already dark themes, it just fades into the background:

Actually, it looks much better in Dark Mode:
, but Dark Mode has quite a few other issues with dark OS themes like with scrollbars, borders and checkboxes, so I've been avoiding it on my home pc:
But I suppose that's a pretty niche situation I have.

Wonderful feature!!!
There's one thing that doesn't look good tho (tested on a fresh): if you enable Dark Mode and FRS, then a selected item, when hovered, looks like is not selected anymore. You should try to see, it's very weird. I know that it's partly due to the colors set in the configuration, but I wonder if you can do something...

Fixed in next beta. (You guessed correctly that it has to do with the new HHI feature.)
