Re: highlighting by hovering item on list-pane or tree as in Explorer
Nice hovering effect, renders all "select full row" options useless for me

Re: highlighting by hovering item on list-pane or tree as in Explorer
Ok, works now. I only did restars without saving, so it did not "save" the new setting neither with its default value to the config file. Thx for the help. Awesome feature, btw, Don, thx a lot.klownboy wrote: ↑12 Nov 2019 21:28 The new tweak will already be there in the ini file. All you have to do is search for ListHoverEffect and then change the value 0 or 1. Save XYplorer.ini file in your editor and then exit XYplorer without saving. Then restart XYplorer. When I first searched for the tweak immediately after the update it didn't show up. I had to exit and restart XY for it to appear. Don, I noticed on numerous occasions. Why is that? I perform the update using SC update (the update is shown in the title bar), but when I first look (search) for a tweak in XYplorer.ini file, it's not there. I have to exit and restart XY to see it there in the ini file.

Re: highlighting by hovering item on list-pane or tree as in Explorer
Actually my intuition is now that I can click the hovered area anywhere to select an item. What do you think? (The selection rectangle would still only cover the caption if Full Row Select is off.)

Makes sense (at least to me)...Actually my intuition is now that I can click the hovered area anywhere to select an item
A graphical glitch:
Hovering over "Safe Browsing"
Then left click and hold and select "Safe Browsing" and the following entries up to "Webstore Download"
When the mouse is released the lower part of the hovering effect is still drawn

Re: highlighting by hovering item on list-pane or tree as in Explorer
Sorry. Of course, I thought I had saved after the update (at least I usually do), but I guess I hadn't. I think I'll put a save settings into my update menu script so it's always done after an update. I can't think of any reason why not to in all cases. Thanks.

Yes, in the meantime I saw a downside to my intuition: Losing the white space. So I guess I leave as it is for now and fix a couple of glitches.

Confirm: tweak works, but only in the file pane.
Problems with the coloring (with the visibility of the highlighting anyway), you can decide later.
-----
now the color of highlighting is the same as background in table List (section of Configuration - Color), but only darker

Re: highlighting by hovering item on list-pane or tree as in Explorer
After activating the new option in the gui, I can't go into normal rename mode (details view) via left mouse click...
A slow double click selects the base name of a file but the next click won't position the cursor any more
but leads to a: go out or rename mode and right into it again

Yes, white space is too valuable of a feature to lose just to be able to click in that area to select.

Re: highlighting by hovering item on list-pane or tree as in Explorer
I agree. But it will be confusing for new users coming from Explorer. Maybe Full Row Select should be enabled by factory default?

Re: highlighting by hovering item on list-pane or tree as in Explorer
I don't use Full Row Select, but I tried it again with HighlightHoveredItems=1. It works in a detailed view but it doesn't seem to work in list view with those settings. Since I don't normally use it, I'm not sure if it's suppose to or not.

Re: highlighting by hovering item on list-pane or tree as in Explorer
What if left-click on hover-highlighted-whitespace selects the file, but double-click and right-click on whitespace stays the same (i.e don't select)?
