Could such a feature be implemented: "click on current tab restores previous selected tab"? Some browsers do that.
Yes, I know about custom shortcuts and I've assigned one, but the tab-click trick could be more intuitive and quick sometimes especially when working with many tabs.
The idea is to toggle between last two selected tabs.

You can do this already with either double click or mouse middle click:

Configuration | Tabs and Panes | Tabs | On middle-click
Configuration | Tabs and Panes | Tabs | On double-click
