Can we have the option to remove the following items from the List context menu?
  • Move to Other Pane
  • Copy to Other Pane

They're currently missing in the Configuration:

Note that they are only shown if Dual Pane is enabled.

Any chance to see this implemented?

Context menus will soon be completely rewritten. Then will be the time to ask again... :)

Any chance this is going to still be implemented or is it possibly to modify it now somehow?
Thanks

Not a priority at the moment.

PS: Are you showing "Move/Copy/Backup To" in that menu? It might be an idea to bind the visibility of these two commands also to that setting.

Being an active user of this feature,
I would like to add my voice to this discussion.

Preface:
I actively use dual pane mode and frequently copy files from a development/Workbench area into a production or staging area. Because of this, I actively use the "copy to" and "move to" context menus. I was taken by surprise when this context menu was disabled by default in 24.20.0400 and needed to be re-enabled. I eventually found the option in the Configuration -> Menus, Mouse, Usability -> File List under "8: Move/Copy/Backup to" (Thanks to this thread, btw!)

My request is this:
* Unbind the Move-to and Copy-to Context Menus Items from the File List Config "8: Move/Copy/Backup to" - (This has made my context menu very cluttered.)
* Create either a Combined "Move-to/Copy-to" Config Option, specifically for the Context Menu, OR, separate Move-to and Copy-to config options for those that want/use one or the other.
Note: I personally don't like clutter, so decoupling these options appeals to me. However, a combined Move-to/Copy-to config option is simpler, and the two tend to get used together.

I see many who do not like these context menu items, and I think that there are a few, like me, who use this functionality.

Can't please everyone, but I thought I'd put forward my thoughts on this so you know where one user stands.

Already done some days ago:

Code: Select all

v24.20.0403 - 2023-03-24 10:58
+ Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Context Menus | File List...:
Added option "Copy/Move to Other Pane". So here is now an independent way to control
the commands "Move to Other Pane" and "Copy to Other Pane". They are no longer tied
      to "Move/Copy/Backup To".

That's awesome!
