While Don is usually pretty fast, bumping a wish with a question like this after a mere 5 hours would make it drop straight to the bottom of the pile on my desk - I hope for you that he's more forgiving...

Hm, wouldn't that be a little corrupt? I'm grateful for your postings but you cannot buy features that way. Only by giving me LOTS of money. ;)

Sorry, OT...
but you cannot buy features that way
Ken, interested in putting together a bit of money (let's say: 2 cent) and buy the "createthumbnails()" script command?

Just repeating that you want it is not so impressive. The classic route for you would be trying to convince me that this feature would make it a better app for many users.

+1 for an option to change the sort order / the ability to determine what is shown...

This can be done e.g. for the libraries in Windows Explorer / Save-As dialogs
http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/move- ... rderindex/

One of the first settings that I apply to new installations

I (personally) don't like the whole junctions / links stuff at the top (because it's not portable and not really
switchable on the fly) so being able to put stuff you really use on the top and let the user decide what to
show anyway would be a nice addition

1) I admit I was surprised to see that this menu does not honor the settings in Configuration | General | Tree and List | Items in Tree and List. I think items that are turned OFF here should also disappear from that menu, right?

2) There are a couple of menus in XY that feature those virtual folders and the drives. If we add a new option here, it should apply to all those places, right?

3) Should it even apply to the Tree??? Probably...

4) So there would be an option "Show physical drives above virtual folders" or so..., okay?

1) It would make sense. At least here in my setup
E.g. all these items are disabled in my config
Show Links folder
Show Desktop folder
Show Documents folder
Show Downloads folder
Show User folder

2) Makes sense as well

3) I'm using a locked mini tree and I load it's entries via a script.
|Links| is one of the items

I guess this would still work if you do the same for the tree so I (personally) have no objections
but somebody maybe has...

4) Maybe a dialog where you can resort the different captions (drives / vfs / ...) by dragging and dropping / move up / down
like it is in the toolbar config if possible. If there are only the two, the option alone would be sufficient I guess
