Vector based icons...they would be a huge plus for many reasons. I'll contribute and help you purchase some of those new graphic icons. I'm sure good ones don't come for nothing. Are there a number of issues associated with going to vector based icons?

Yes, ugliness is a huge point here.

Workaround: could they get some more horizontal spacing (2px), just to decrease probability of mishits?

/e: just saw and tried the column auto-scaling. Huge improvement.
This screams now "give me auto full-screen!"

Just 2px? Between the buttons?

Auto full-screen? Why that?

The number is just an idea. Yes, between the buttons, top/bottom wouldn't give any additional benefit, right?

Because after scaling-up I would have to scroll horizontally with my standard col layout in contrast to full screen. It's not essential, more sort of the polishing.

You have come a long way with just 3 iterations! :appl: :appl:

I wish the Vivaldi team would do so as well. :(

I think I draw a line here for now. Let's see what comes back from the street first.

Just got a touchscreen (Lenovo) and 18.30 really makes file management with XY much easier. Thanks, Don. From what I've read, you're saying that we should not expect larger toolbar icons in the immediate future due to coding issues rather than vector icon availability. (correct me if I've got that wrong).

Would it be possible to make the "ugly icon" situation available as an interim thing? You could even throw a warning up on the screen (with an "don't show again" checkbox!) when someone ticks the box. I, for one, might be able to get used to them just because of the usability. Then when the real large toolbar icons come out, I'll be sooooooo impressed and happy! :appl:

You can manually enlarge the toolbar icons by Ctrl+Wheel over the toolbar.

Or use the Options button in Customize Toolbar (Ctrl+Shift+F9):

Made up my mind: Next version will have "Scale Toolbar".

+ Toolbar | Touchscreen Mode: Now also the toolbar can be scaled in
      Touchscreen Mode.

Thank you. :)

Toolbar offers lots of flexibility, even without vector based icons. Customized it by using User Buttons for all required commands and applying the 'Extra Large' toolbar setting. I used letters where it is difficult to remember the meaning of the icon (for example Open With).

Is it on purpose, that switching TouchMode = Off resets the tweak ToolbarZoom?

Can the zoom factor be preserved? Otherwise the buttons return to become too small on my HiDPI device.

Thanks, FH

I see. I try.

Curious: Which zoom do you use?

Code: Select all

v18.30.0010 - 2017-09-12 20:30
! Touchscreen Mode: Scaling the Toolbar permanently altered the original
      value of ToolbarZoom. Fixed.
Thanks. :D
