No.

Because there can be practically unlimited extensions under each category.
Enter the extensions you want to find in the Name box when you want to find them.
e.g,

Code: Select all

Name: *.pdf;*.docx;*.xlsx

BTW, I plan to add "Files" and "Folders" to that list. People tend to look there for this... (and I admit it's not very intuitive that being a Directory is a "File Attribute" in Windows).

If there can be many subcategories, at least put the most common.

The idea is not to type extensions in the search field, but to select them from the submenus

And who decides which extensions are the most common?
Follow yusef's suggestion. That may just be perfect for your case.

And regardless of whether Don does this or not, I'm firmly against the idea. Whenever a menu has upwards of one (or more!) screenful of items -- which a list of file extensions is sure to have -- that's itself very good reason the menu should not exist at all.

Well, this was not so brilliant. Everything will stay as it is now.

There is always the switches for those who can't handle "file attributes":

Code: Select all

/f = Find only files, not folders.
/d = Find only folders, not files.
