That's slick and less intrusive maybe because much of the arrow is buried in the bottom frame. I like it.

Re: "What about this?"

Yep, the "arrow solution" is visually appealing to me too.

Code: Select all

v19.20.0012 - 2018-10-04 14:51
! Tools | Customize Tree | Full Row Select: HBOF and MUSD did not work.
      Fixed.
! Mouse Up Show Down: Would not work in drives listing in Tiles and
Thumbnail views. Fixed. Now it works on the icons.
  Love it.

I played a bit with a thinner margin and liked it (for folder previews only, not for file previews). You'll see...

I think it may look great, but it will drive the OCD people up the wall.

Yeah man, that OCD! lol

What I'm saying is that if hovering one item displays a different style margin than everything else, someone will go insane. Image

And, BTW, since I enabled the HoverBox on day one I never ever felt the urge to turn it off again. So that would be a special type of button (at least for me): Only "ON", not "OFF". I could make a button that destroys itself after the first and only push. Hommage à Mission Impossible...

Actually I wanted to complain, that it blends too much into my white background of tree and list and that's why I liked the wider margin and additionally how strange visually that the margins are different in HoverBoxes. But after this conversation it is better to keep those thoughts to myself and eat that frog. Plus I do hate being mind-read... I'm with Nighted, I like the new thin border and yeah I think it would be great in Hover Boxes everywhere. :)

Speaking of borders, or lack of them, this capture is new File Explorer, in Windows 10 Pro version 1809, on top of an XYplorer window. Notice anything missing? I didn't do anything to cause or create...
