Option for Live Filter Box instead of Type Ahead Find

Hi Don, though 2 quick presses of Esc is certainly not a big deal, I have to agree with Littlebig. After seeing this in action, there's really no reason that I can think of for needing the second press of Esc. If you hit Esc just once you obviously want to escape out of the live filter. My original thought was I wanted to get rid of the LFB AND the Status bar if the status bar was not present in the layout before you started typing. So at that time, it made sense to rid the LFB and status bar by simply hitting Esc a second time. It seems now though that it really shouldn't be necessary, one press should suffice since typing will bring back the LFB anyway. I wish you they had brought up that point before the latest beta, but like me it took seeing it implemented first.

Eh. Now I see: after a restart, I cannot reproduce the problem - which was happening while experimenting the new setting. I'll report back if I come up with further details...

Detail 1: it happened after I immediately upgraded from an earlier (17.60.0105, I guess) version.

You use shift+[letters] for CKS? Then you get the same problem with normal Type Ahead Find.

Since casing is irrelevant in both scopes and actual usage grows, I guess it makes more sense having the SHIFT key being favored when used in conjunction with letters.

I was wondering on it... had no issues in all those years.

The more I use LFB (this is not connected with my first post on this, which refers the LIST having the focus), the more I'd like that, even if the focus is on the LFB box, CKS would be triggered when invoked from there: sometimes I just come back to the machine and forget where the focus is. Or is it just the extra-TABs I'd have to type (first one focus the AB - which is also CKS-unfriendly), or the extra click I'd like to save *each and every time I use LFB followed by a CKS*, which in my case means several times a day.

Edit boxes are not CKS-unfriendly, but CKS-that-are-visible-characters-unfriendly. There is no way around this. The question wether you mean to type capital A or to trigger something by Shift+A can not be solved without reading your mind.
