Paste and Go: Full Path

Currently it is possible to paste a file's name on list and have it scrolled into the viewport.
Why not paste an existent file's full path into the list and have XY teleporting us to it?

Just want to make sure what you are saying. You said it's currently possible to paste a file's name on list, meaning the Paste and Find: Quickly jump to a file pasting its name directly into the file list right?

If so, the feature you are requesting is to be able to paste an existing file path into the file lister and have it move to that location? It actually seems a bit confusing since XYplorer will also need to differentiate whether you're pasting a path or part of a file/folder's name. At the same time, it does seem kind of attractive.

You could still do something similar right now by unchecking Settings > Controls and More > Open file from Address Bar. Anything you paste into the address bar now will simply teleport you to where the file is located without actually opening it up.

Actually I'm trying to save some clicks eliminating ALT+D (focus addy bar)/ CTRL+V / ENTER or CTRL+G (go to...)/ CTRL+V / ENTER or Breadcrumb Bars / context menu / Paste and Go by mimetizing 15.30's feature 'Paste and Find'.

'[drive letter]:' can't be a part of a name.

"Open file from Address Bar" could regulate the main behavior but my top action here would be going to the pasted addy.

Love it! Added it! :appl:

Once there is a backslash in the pasted string XY will take that as a path and jump there.

So I'm very sorry for my silence on other solutions, too. Mistakenly thought they would not be helpful on a forum. Really glad for such a readiness here.

LOL. But will I get sued if I use this claim? (In Germany nowadays you can get sued for telling jokes. The globalization pressure is deforming us in strange ways.)

Well... definitely need an international law expert in here. GEICO is an American company and American do love to sue so... :titter:

Maybe we can modify it? "Xo easY an OCD files moving specialist could do it"
I wonder how long that will keep American's sue-trigger-happy at bay for...
