Blacklist for Recent Location\Opened Files History

Post by starstuff »

Hello,

I wish xyplorer can have selective amnesia on recent location and recent opened files, this can be made using a blacklist for files and folders. the user only needs to set the file \ folder path.

example blacklist:
c:\
c:\secretfolder
c:\secretfolder\secret.txt

explanation:
if the user set c:\ , anything under it would not be seen in history.
if the user set c:\secretfolder, only anything under it would not be seen in history
if the user set c:\secretfolder\secret.txt, only the path to secret.txt would be not be in history

the user can set multiple file \ folder paths.

TIA!

Hello,

It's a strange idea. If you register, for example, C:\secretfolder into an history blacklist, it will be a very good information you'll give to investigators.
They will be very happy to gain time by just reading items you put in your blacklist.

It will be safer to create a "private navigation" mode, like all browsers do.

@Asta: A porn mode for a file manager... hmm, makes a good sales pitch!

@SkyFrontier: Cleaner browsing, less byte pollution, helping the climate... also a nice point!
