CTRL+Click to open in new tab

Post by ethanpil »

I was wondering if it would be possible to add browser like functions when clicking on locations:

CTRL + Double Click on folder to open in new tab
CTRL + Click on toolbar item (This PC, Favorite Folders) to open in new tab.

What do you think?

CTRL + Double Click on folder to open in new tab
Shift + Double click does that already
CTRL + Click on toolbar item (This PC, Favorite Folders) to open in new tab.
You can always use a script (with the same icon) that reacts on a trigger (a modifier key) and do whatever you want...

Shift + (Single-) Click already works in both cases to open the location in a new tab.

Thanks, I didn't know about that. Still, can we have the option to change as follows to mimic the behavior of all web browsers?

Ctrl+Click = New Tab
Shift+Click = New Window

Talking of mimicking browsers, if you enable these options to middle-click items and open them in a new tab, like browser do.
Configuration > Menus, Mouse, Safety > Mouse > Middle-click opens folder in new tab
Configuration > Menus, Mouse, Safety > Mouse > Middle-click goes to file in new tab

I thought I could do Ctrl + Click like in browsers but I found that there is no option for it.
There is MMB (Middle Mouse Button) but my middle mouse button is broken so I can't use it.
I wish developer adds a way to open new tabs with Ctrl + Click.
So  from me too.
