Re: Retina/High DPI support
Ok. But if I happen to find a software that can create 64x64 cursor files (*.CUR) for Windows I might give it a shot. I like my custom cursors...

I use a (free) old edition (1.6) for icons, afaik it supports 64x64 cursors.

This is old as well but supports 64x64. http://www.rw-designer.com/cursor-makeradmin wrote:Ok. But if I happen to find a software that can create 64x64 cursor files (*.CUR) for Windows I might give it a shot. I like my custom cursors...
It is fully portable and free but I just tried it and in the cursor test area it says "Windows resizes all cursors to 32x32" so not sure if you can get around that limitation in your implementation though, but I successfully created a 64x64 cursor with the software.

v1.64 was the last free version of IcoFX but I don't see any cursor support in it at all...I use a (free) old edition (1.6) for icons, afaik it supports 64x64 cursors.

Yes, the old free one doesn't support it, hence the link to the web site. Acc. to the license one needs the Business License anyhow.

Re: Retina/High DPI support
Thanks for the tips!
This online tool also works quite well:
https://convertio.co/de/png-cur/
However it cannot set hotspots (the pixel where the click lands), the main difference between ICO and CUR resources.
Good news: Just found out how XY can use full color 64x64 cursors. Might be useful in future... just remains the hotspot problem... going to research...
