Re: Support for Portable Devices

Post by calude »

on my XTC One S Android 4.1.1

I can navigate the file system but the files have no extension and therefore XY cannot open them.
I can rename inline and set the extension, in this case to jpg, opening the file opens the associated app, but the file is not opened (yet)

hope this helps

don't know if it's a bug or "not working for now", just a little feedback from me.

Yes, this should work in the next release.

Are you working on XP?
No, not really :) Windows Server 2012 R2 Update 1

I've tweaked the config and now the option is still greyed out, but at least it has a checkmark.

My Nexus 5 shows up when I right click into the tree (in the context menu) :)

but I can't do anything with it because of:

Oh, "Windows Server 2012 R2" was not correctly recognized since a couple of days ago. Fix comes.

P.S, talking about freezeing, pls approve this http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13212
If it has a drive letter then this post is in the wrong thread.

Note that I probably fixed the issues of various users mentioned above. Wait for the next beta...

- New beta fixes the "location not available" error on my Nexus 5
- Windows Server 2012 R2 is supported again, no more greyed out "Show Portable Devices"
- .ini tweak isn't necessary any more for this OS
- Nexus 5 was only visible when directly clicking on "Computer" in the tree view or with a righclick inside the tree view (in the context menu). With this version it's visible in the tree directly
- Serial rename works

Good job!

I didn't expect this and maybe you didn't either, but with the latest v14.80.0203 I can see the entire Kindle / Android file structure of the Kindle Fire HDX. I was even able to used the right click menu and copy a file and then paste it in the computer hard drive. It couldn't drag and drop and still no dice on the older original Kindle Fire...on even seeing it. :appl:
Thanks,
Ken

Is there any portable device left that's not browsable with v14.80.0204?

Any one out there have any luck seeing an iPod (probably 5th generation iPod nano...not mine)? It shows up under Windows Devices and Printers as iPOD but there's an exclamation point icon and the properties say WPD FileSystem Volume Driver but yet that driver is properly installed. Under Properties | Device status, it says device cannot start. I don't have any iTunes cr*p installed so could that be it? Thanks.
