And now two new ones (15.50.0005 as well).

1. Double-clicking on a jpg on the phone's (Lumia 830) SD card leads to
Invalid_Folder_Name.png
Invalid_Folder_Name.png (20.54 KiB) Viewed 3089 times
2. I can't drag&drop straight to the desktop (Win 8.1 x64 Pro) anymore (?).

Cheers,

Cannot reproduce any of your 4 issues.

I get a new phone soon. Let's see how it behaves...

I tried this feature with my new Canon SX600. Some observations.

Attempt to copy or move *folder* from the device fails with error 0x00000000. An empty file with the same name as the folder is created instead.

Moving and copying *files* from the device works correctly.

Copying files/folders to the device or creating files/folder on the device fails both in XY and in WinExplorer, but is wrongly reported as successful (and requiring refresh) in XY. It seems the camera somehow disallows writing to the card (except for deleting items).

------
When I attempt to copy folder "125__09" from "Canon PowerShot SX600 HS\SD\DCIM" to "C:\test", I get the following. Notice the empty file created.

After clicking on either option, another message box appears:

----
Quickly skimming through 20 pages of this thread, this seems like a can of worms, so feel free to ignore it, I can use card reader of WinExplorer instead. What idiot came up with this protocol, when there is something infinitely better - mass storage?

edit: Forgot to mention, that I have Win7, x86.

(Auto-)Refreshing tree and list (all views, I guess) is completely broken over here. Plugging-in/off the phone (Lumia 830) requires XY to be restarted to update the GUI properly.
I do clearly hear the sound notifications and Windows Explorer acts perfectly fine in fore- and background.

Forgot to mention: Win 10 Pro x64, 15.70.0117

Same here. It's complete crap. I never use it. It works here, but it's so slooooooow.

Concerning those bugs: ATM I gave up on this. I had been hoping that some Win8 update fixed something here but apparently no luck yet.

use the paste option from the 64-bit menu. This outsources the operation to WE.
Don, XY should have an option to "Do Portable Device operations via system"

I've read through most of the 20 pages of this thread and still don't know the answer...

I'm trying to be able to work with my Galaxy S4 phone and XY. While the phone is recognized by Windows and I can Explore all I want, I can't seem to see it in XY. Is there something in the config that I have to set/modify? Or is this just not possible at this time?

With 16.80.0014 I don't see my PD any longer (though Windows' file manager does).
Does it still work for you/anybody else?

Me neither. But it was lost sometime before 0014.

Works fine here (Win 8.1). Did you try v16.80.0015 or later? There was an issue but it was fixed in v16.80.0015.
