Full Unicode Support
Re: Full Unicode Support
I would like to be able to rename files in Bangla directly, but I hardly do that anyways, so that's okay for now for me.

Never mind Dude, being a VB DB Admin, I know how difficult it is to alter the path of a well going project midway!admin wrote:Sorry, but I cannot put this to the top of my list.
May be at the bottom of your list? Somewhere backside of your mind? next majour upgrade? Anytime future?
We will be waiting, no, SammaySarkar?

Re: Full Unicode Support
Since it is on Don's list, we will get it.

Re: Full Unicode Support
I have to bring up this thread again. I get exactly the same problem with Vietnamese: Copy-paste is ok but when typing, a few peculiar characters turn into ???. i.e:
ấ ể ờ ộ
Can we expect a fix?

Re: Full Unicode Support
I'm afraid this is extremely hard to fix and so many other things are more important at the moment. So I can only remain: later.

Re: Full Unicode Support
If you start XYplorer.exe with this command line switch, does it help when typing Vietnamese?
Code: Select all
XYplorer.exe /flg=1024

Sorry, /flg=1024 doesn't help.

Re: Full Unicode Support
(helloooo! )
after this development around 18.60.02000, support for complex scripts got a promising improvement.
See that? I'm typing the same thing in both rename and TAF -- textboxes are still showing "?" marks, however TAF input is perfectly okay!
Now all you got to do is make textboxes work the same.
(Just in case, here's an installable keyboard layout for Bangla: https://ekushey.org/?page/down_probhat)
keep up the great work.

Re: Full Unicode Support
Hey! It is several years I and SammaySarkar raised an issue regarding Full Unicode Support in search and display parts. Any possibility?Ashwin wrote: ↑28 Aug 2014 13:15Never mind Dude, being a VB DB Admin, I know how difficult it is to alter the path of a well going project midway!admin wrote:Sorry, but I cannot put this to the top of my list.

That's very unfortunate! I have to use windows explorer just for this purpose!
