When my Android phone is connected to my Windows 8.1 computer, a folder is displayed with the phone model name.
The folder can be opened to display the underlying structure of the phone. Copy/Paste of files does not work. Files can then be opened in an application, but prior to that, Windows copies the file(s) to a Windows-generated folder:
C:\Users\raana_000\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\IE\......
The phone is not recognized as a USB device, but uses a different protocol, making it impossible to use standard routines & most current applications.
XYPlorer does not currently show the phone folder. It should at least display the connected phone.

Re: Android phone files
Androids use the MTP protocol, which is currently unsupported by XY. But Don is working on it : http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7926
it's listed on the roadmap (Suppor for Non-Drive Devices ): http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=830

Re: Android phone files
For me, I'm quite satisfied using AirDroid because I don't have to connect via cord and can leave phone across the room.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
