Start XYplorer when Windows Starts

Post by theoldman »

Hi.
Just a suggestion, if you do not mind.
I have tried to get XYplorer to start when Windows starts and drop down to the Task Bar.
However, when you do this, it may or may. What sometimes happens is that
its loaded, but nothing is shown. When I look into the 'Device Manager', its there.
So, I 'End Task' and then select it from the Desk Top Icon.
Is it possible to have that feature. Its very useful for those who do not want to make
XYplorer the systems main explorer.
All the best.

XYplorer remembers the last state (minimized/maximized/normal/tray) before closing.

So maybe you will find XY within the hidden symbols on the tray, because you closed it while in minimized/tray state? (see the little arrow?)

Tip: see "Tools > Configuration > Startup&Exit > Startup Windows State" and set it to [Normal] or Maximized to prevent that.

1. Locate the XYplorer.exe file, right click it and choose "Copy".
2. Find the folder named Startup in the Start menu (in All Programs), right click it and choose "Open".
3. Windows Explorer will open the folder. Inside the folder, right click it and choose "Paste Shortcut".

OR
1. Locate the XYplorer.exe file, right click it and choose "Create Shortcut". Copy or Cut that shortcut.
2. Find the folder named Startup in the Start menu (in All Programs), right click it and choose "Open".
3. Windows Explorer will open the folder. Inside the folder, right click it and choose "Paste".

OR (dangerous for unpractised users)
Open the Startup folder.
Right click and drag&drop the XYplorer.exe to the Startup folder and chose "Create Shortcut"

Note for Win7:
Your personal startup folder should be C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.
The All Users Startup folder is located at C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Windows 10 Home -
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp

did NOT work.

Any ideas for what does work?
