Re: Make thumbnail selection highlight include filename...
Well, in Details view there is not other way to show the selection state so the Color Filter has to be mostly sacrificed. In Thumbnails view there is enough space to show both. You want Color Filter -- you get it (if possible). Your choice.

Re: Make thumbnail selection highlight include filename...
please at least give us an option to toggle the behavior in thumbnails view, because it looks so ugly right now.

Re: Make thumbnail selection highlight include filename...
aside from the problem looking ugly, it also has a problem with functionality. example, i set 0 padding for my thumbnails to maximize screen usage. but without proper selection highlight on the text, you can't see the selections well. in my screenshot below, the middle 3 square images are selected but it is hard to tell. the current behavior is definitely a problem and i'm making a very reasonable request to at least give us an option to let color filters coexist with thumbnail selection highlight properly. just let selection highlight always override color filters.

In an application with such a vast amount of customization options there are conflicting constellations. So, choose your options wisely.
In your particular case the answer is: Turn Color Filters off.

Re: Make thumbnail selection highlight include filename...
is it really that hard to just add an option to let selection highlight always override color filters?

Re: Make thumbnail selection highlight include filename...
it is bad as it currently is. and it is not even hard to add the option, please just give us the option to toggle the behavior to our preference. for users like me who leave color filters always on.
