[ Solved ! ] file type associations -> hidden

Post by cslevine »

Well, ..hellos...

What about a feature, in customised file associations, to "hidden" ?
This would be used to hide the thrumbnails photos or video in SD cards, such as .THM / LRV / pic / peak / ovw / sfl

you see :
these files used by software for quick displaying mini thrumbnails or waveforms in Cubase / Protools / Vegas...
but no worry if they are deleted. This could make the view in a SD card more friendly, displaying only what a human wants to see.

( Sorry if the subject is already there, found nothing in the quick search made before )

You would rather use a (inverted) Visual Filter for this.

Code: Select all

 !*.bim;*.bam;*.bum

You cannot attach a filter to a folder view. It's an idea though. Maybe something for later...

For now I would simply reserve a tab for it and browse your special folders in that filtered tab.

Tick Configuration | Find Files & Branch View | Visual Filters | Persist visual filters across folders to keep the filter ON while browsing.

It also was my wish 2 and a half year before in this thread: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6444 And I still miss this feature.

Yep, but it would be a LOT of work. Not any time soon.

Thanks for giving it a second thought! It is really great! :appl: I immediately changed my FVS folder to this:

Code: Select all

\|*\Pictures|* Pictures|*_Pictures|*\Screenshots||"Image|Image Files" {:Image}

Thank you for the beta !

Well, there is an issue : the "swap visual filter" tick in the menu is not applied with saved folder view,
then, after some tries, this "swap visual filter" is saved, but for all folders, or none.

So, having a choice to do and, the choice is none, because filtered folders, won't display the available space in the drive.
The unique way to view it in XY because no "propriety" option in right click menu.

it would be good, if "basculer filtre visuel" / swap visual filter would be saved part of a folder view

I don't know what you mean. Which menu? Which "swap visual filter" tick ?

Sorry :
"View" -> "Tab" -> "Toggle visual filter"

this option can be saved, when saving global settings,
but not part with the "local" folder view settings.

Hm, works fine here. What exactly is not working? Show your example, please.
