Tip of the Day
"Tip of the Day" is really very outdated and also looks old. I'm not sure if I should keep this....
What's your opinion? Isn't this really a last millenium thing? The MLS box already takes lots of my time. The website. The help file. The emails,. The forum. I have less and less time for coding. I'd really like to drop "Tip of the Day"!
Now, some translators have offered to translate it or even have done it already! That's great, but it means even more updating, uploading for me.

Re: Tip of the Day
I'll be honest: never used it.
I always click "don't show again" on such windows (editpad pro, for example). I prefer finding new features the good ol way, the instructions manual.

Re: Tip of the Day
I almost always turn the auto-show/start of these OFF on any software -but- on occasion, will turn it on and review a few items to make sure I've not forgotten something so I use it as a quick review in a way.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Me too - I'm curious if anyone ever finds those things useful instead of an annoyance in any software?klownboy wrote:I always turn it off no matter what the software. I can RTFM!
Re: Tip of the Day
Never, EVER have I used TOTD in ANY software. Good riddance!
I want XY to serve soft ice cream. Please Don, make XY serve soft ice cream.
Re: Tip of the Day
I actually used them a couple times before. But considering how complex and feature full XYplorer was, I never really bothered with it too much but I did use it for a while when I first start learning the software and picked up a lot of neat little tricks from it as well. So... it wasn't a total loss.

Re: Tip of the Day
I think the TOTD function is totally okay, but its form is from the slow-internet era. Nowadays you use the web for such things.

Re: Tip of the Day
Perhaps change Tip of the day to Feature of the day?
Showcase one feature each day, sort of the way you do when you first introduce them on the "What's New" page.

I develop scripts that integrate media functionality into Xyplorer.

Re: Tip of the Day
Sure would be nice, but the days in 2014 are no longer than in 2013 -- well probably, the first one has not ended yet.
