Thank you Nardog for sharing your views - I have found your text very interesting and an eye opener. Yes, languages make invisible barriers around us, in the world, but also for example here in Europe, where I live. Hardly can one get in touch with and deeply understand the real life problems of people in, say, Spain, Greece, Portugal (to list only a few of the EU member states), without being able to use Spanish, Greek, Portuguese... This is most unfortunate and, I would say, even dangerous in the long run.

Nardog wrote:Payment. Japanese tend to hate to use credit cards. They rely on cash and bank accounts for daily shopping and miscellaneous payments, and still go to rental stores and rent DVDs to watch movies at home!
Now, how do Japanese buy software from the internet?

I mean, this is just a matter of people's habits. Some buy software online, but the majority don't. Also, domestic software developers often provide multiple methods of payment, and those who have difficulties with language or payment may purchase foreign software via Japanese agencies.

It could have something to do with phonetics. Have you ever considered this Don?

It's possible that "XYProrer" (sic) might sound like "toilet" in Japanese!
I want XY to serve soft ice cream. Please Don, make XY serve soft ice cream.

I think XYplorer is a stupid and weird name for the speakers of any language, but that's also an advantage: it's so bizarre that it's very unlikely that it does have any meaning.

Hi Don,
How's your Chinese sales figure (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, & Taiwan)?

I'm curious about sale in Vietnam too, because of prevalence of software piracy here  . I want to know whether people's awareness gets better recent years.
I'm a casual coder using AHK language. All of my xys scripts:

To be honest, the US market is your best bet.

No trouble at all. If you can promote me in Hongkong, go ahead, great! After all, Hongkong is one of my favorite cities. But details should be discussed via email. Thanks for the offer.
