I don't use these 'special folders'.
Maybe it's just me, but this is the behaviour I'd like to see:
When in Tree:
Click on a Location: open the Location in current Tab.
Double-click on a Location: open the Location in a new Tab.
(like now).
When in Catalog (or maybe other 'special folders'):
Click on a Location: if the Location is already open in an existing Tab, go to that Tab; if not, open the Location in a new Tab.
Double-click is not needed since Click decides where to act as Single or Double ...
In other words, the Catalog is used to open Locations and switch between them without having to worry if they are already open or not.
In any case, thank's a lot for your time.

FYI, you can always force a new tab by holding SHIFT when going to the new location.
