Quick answer is no.
Shell integration might improve ease of use but not significantly (depending on your habits).
Sure its nice to have XYplorer open when you double-click a folder or drive, but once you're used to it you'll hardly ever find yourself wanting to browse to a folder or drive without XYplorer.
