Re: New Logo/Icon
Doesn't work here on Win 10 Pro. I haven't done (another) restart yet, though.
Re: New Logo/Icon
- <xy> would anyone just have the old icon to place somewhere and use w/o the need to reference an old xy.exe?
- taskbar didn't work with that sequence (or was the <xy> step a prerequisite?
I must have jinxed this with my earlier post, after a windows update and restart the taskbar icon was suddenly the new one

Re: New Logo/Icon
The taskbar is a bit stubborn sometimes. It will eventually behave.

Re: New Logo/Icon
Sorry if it's obvious, but I can't seem to find the "new dialog" referenced in the release notes for choosing the app icon... where is this new dialog?

Re: New Logo/Icon
Oh, I forgot to explain that to the world. Wait... (or look into the change log).

Seriously ? These remarks are completely uncalled for. Sorry, final straw for me. XY uninstalled and moved over to Directory Opus for good now. If you designed this new look yourself, stop. If you paid for it, get a refund and possibly use it for counseling on how to treat and work with paying customers.v23.70.0000 - 2022-09-26 16:00
+++ App Icon. Old. In case you feel an unbearably strong emotional attachment to the old
icon, you can either go to your shrink or switch back to the old icon through a
handy little dialogue.

Alright, bye. I removed you. I don't want anyone on the forum going nuts again and delete all his posts.

Re: New Logo/Icon
Just to voice another opinion I much prefer the old icon and appreciate the option to revert it
It's good to have a refresh occasionally but the new icon kind of made me think of a tabloid news site or something! The program itself though is as essential as always

Re: New Logo/Icon
So I decided to bite the bullet and update to 23.70 so I could see the new logo in action. My original comment stands. I don't like it.
I see in the release notes that by typing "appicon;" in the address bar and pressing "enter" XY will bring up a dialog to reinstate the old logo. However, when I do as told, XY throws this error:
So obviously I'm missing something. Do I need to invoke "appicon;" from a particular directory? Do I need to have the old logo (which Don provided a few posts ago) somewhere?
I'm using the no-install version should that make any difference.
Thanks.

Re: New Logo/Icon
Instead of
D:\Utilities\XYplorer\appicon;
try just appicon;
or, even better, ::appicon;

Re: New Logo/Icon
Thank you, Don, for giving us this alternative.

Re: New Logo/Icon
Hi phred, I get the same error message when I don't have a semi colon,";" after "appicon", but it works when it's there.
