Where is your Address Bar Dropdown button?
Re: Where is your Address Bar Dropdown button?
I'm loving the dropdown on the left!

Scroll down to drop down and button on left is amazing.
Agree with others, factory default should be right with advertisements. It may extra work, but a wizard for this tiny customisations can be a wonderful advertisement
Re: Where is your Address Bar Dropdown button?
This is the best and most useful thing invented in XYP - congratulations to all who took part here. I see two basic uses:
1. To find files.
2. To find folders, directories to some, in an equivalent manner that is used for files now. Taylor made to find folders – not buried under or in other menus – each needing a single or a double click.
As for where this is placed is less important IMHO. I would first guess for myself is directly following the address, on the Address Bar, for the Folder Finder (FF1) followed by the File Finder (FF2)
Flexibility as to placement is the thing. With this important feature, which will be in constant use by many, I would like to see the line height increased by 25%-50% for this feature or line only - for distracted or senior users such as myself.
Whatever the choices – save keystrokes and save time.

Re: Where is your Address Bar Dropdown button?
Mines on the right side, but I haven't invested the time into learning what it's capable of, so I don't really use it.
When I need to jump to a folder I use a hotkey to bring up the Go to from here... window (#532). If I need to find a file I use the Quick Search window.
I was thinking of getting rid of the address bar, but it just doesn't feel like a file manager without one.

Left. Because it's way less mouse travel. There nothing else all the way over there in the right (except the close button).

Left - if space is kept for 250+ character file and folder names.

Re: Where is your Address Bar Dropdown button?
Quick question regarding the address bar: Does the "Go to from Here" search bar (#532) offer all the same functionality as the address bar? If not, is there such a window within XY which I can call that would be the address bar's equivalent?
Just wondering if I'm being redundant by still displaying the address bar or calling up this window.

Go | Go to... (Ctrl+G) should be identical.

I have never noticed or used this - is this for use when you have 50 tabs open and need to find one? I regularly close unused tabs once the bar gets crowded and only have my most frequently used in a locked position.

Alright, the factory default will stay on the right.
