How to disable/reduce "Recent Locations list?

How can I either reduce the "Recent Location" list to 1 entry of even disable it completely?

1) Edit/Delete it: Tools | List Management | Recent Locations...

2) Forget it across sessions: Untick "History" here:
Configuration | General | Startup & Exit | Save Settings | Apply to...

It seems to work but only partially.

I cleared successfully all entries as you said.
Then I setup my configuration as depicted in the attached snapshot
Then I worked a while.
When I click again on the "Recent Locations" toolbar icon then all previous (since the clear) visited folders appear.
No files are listed.

So again: How do I really disable ALL items in recent location list (INCLUDING folders)?

You seem to want to turn off the Recent Locations feature entirely. That's not possible.

Since you posted pics of Save Settings...: Can you exactly define what you want?

I want NO items (no files, no folders) in "Recent Locations" - At least not after Exit of XYplorer

Simply untick "History" in "Configuration | General | Startup & Exit | Save Settings | Include most-recently-used lists on save | Apply to...", or untick the whole "Configuration | General | Startup & Exit | Save Settings | Include most-recently-used lists on save".
