Prevent Find Files from auto finding?

I did a time consuming search using the find files dialog.
When I navigated away to a different tab and switched back the search started all over again.
Is there a way to prevent this?

Configuration | Find and Filter | Find Files & Branch View | Find Files | [x] Cache search results
and maximum number = 0

Tried that.
I did a complicated search, switched to another tab and when I switched back to the original search it still took over a minute and a half to read from cache. Any way I can switch to another tab and switch back to the tab and not have it do anything additional other than the way I left it?
