Is it possible to pin folders (like in W10)?

Post by OrgodioOrgodio »

Pretty much the question itself, I read a thread 6 years ago that said it wasn't possible, is it now?

Also, how do I enable different tabs like in chrome? Cause if i have a folder open and I double click on another folder from the desktop (not from XYplorer) it updates XY with the folder I selected and remove the old one.

Thanks everyone!

You mean pin it to the jump list of the taskbar entry? If dragging a file / folder on that entry doesn't work, no...

Tick this for point 2
Configuration | General | Startup & Exit | [x] Open command line start path in new tab

I mean like this: https://ibb.co/Pz85rcS

Like putting this pinned folders behind the tree, for example in a separate panel.

You can't pin them anywhere else apart from inside that Links "folder" in the tree

You can alternatively use the much more powerful XY Catalog instead, it can also be positioned at the top of the tree similar to Quick Access,

https://www.xyplorer.com/tour.php?page=catalog

To enable the Catalog and move it to the top of the tree, use these menu items:

Window | Show Catalog
Window | Arrangement | Catalog First

Is it possible to re-arrange the order of the shortcuts in this "Link" folder?

Welcome to the forum!

Yes the catalog entries can be be freely rearranged.
It also offers one level of grouping via Categories.

He talks about the Links folder in the tree :)

No, you can't rearrange that content there
