How do I lose the background color of List tabs?

In older versions of XY, the list tabs had a background color of white.

Nowadays, they appear to be blue (primary pane) and brown (secondary pane). Attempting to set their background color to white doesn't work.

How do I drop these colors and revert them both to white?

Uncheck:

Configuration | Colors and Styles | Colors | Match selected tab with breadcrumb bar

then if you decide you want a color other than white, this needs to be enabled:

Configuration | Colors and Styles | Colors | Apply colors
