Thumbnail preview for video files on network drive

Video files on my local disks preview their content in the thumbnail, but if I move them to my NAS they just show the generic video player thumbnail.

Image thumbnails behave the same in both locations. Is it possible to also preview video file contents in the thumbnail on the NAS?

XYplorer is not the culprit. Thumbnails should work on network drives just like anywhere else. We are talking about UNC paths, right? (\\server\share\...)
