Associate folder color with contents

Post by respect »

Is there a way to associate folder color with the newest file in that folder?
I use the filters with the newest files being black and the color is getting lighter when the files are aging.
With the setting I currently have, the folders are not colored at all.

How should any of your shown filters colorize a folder if they only apply to files (because of the f scope suffix)?

And if you're talking about a filter that matches a folder because of an existing file in it, that's not possible via color filters, you'd need to seek a scripting solution for that...

Removing the link to the folder (f:) solved my problem.

While this seems to work for your use case now, the filter is applied based on the modification date of the folder.
I would assume that if you move an older file into a folder (while preserving the file's dates) the folder would still show up with your filter, because its content was changed.
