So, I'm having some weird issues here.
I'm trying to get XY to run faster looking at network shares.
I've tried following the steps over here hoping that it would help XY:
https://www.zubairalexander.com/blog/ho ... rk-shares/
It helped explorer a ton, but not so much for XY.
Here's what I have running for XY:
It's starting to feel like AOL on a 1200 baud modem =(. XY Freezes almost every time I try to access the server.
This seems to be true weather I am sitting on the exact "URL" (Location) or weather I am on a mapped drive at the same location.
I should stress that I KNOW there is a lot on this server I am using. Is XY just "scanning ahead" and it will clear up once the server info is fully cached?
Any other thoughts would help.
Thanks.
Any better ideas for speeding up Network Browsing?

I just timed it to give a little better perspective.
At current, it takes 120 seconds to move from one directory to another. Going back to a previous directory does not help speed.

Does it help if you turn off
Configuration | General | Tree and List | Tree | Check existence of subfolders in tree
and what happens in a fresh instance?

Actually, scratch
Unchecking "Pre-check availability of servers" seems to resolve the issue.
I figured that would be 'one pre-check', not 'pre-check' everytime I go to a server location.
Additionally, for reasons unknown, actual network URLs work better then Network Shared Drive Locations.

For the record, I checked in a fresh instance already and it was crawling how it was before I started tinkering --- which wasn't BAD, but it could result in those same 120 second waits at times.

You are using an older version of XY. This setting has been removed from newer versions. Because of the slowness.Knighthammer wrote: ↑17 Jun 2021 20:11 Unchecking "Pre-check availability of servers" seems to resolve the issue.
