I'm a new user and can't figure out how to add a 'Link' to the Links folder.
The XYPlorer Help pdf says:
The Links folder is functionally quite similar to the "Favorites" folder in Explorer and shows the same
items: all and only *.LNK files located in %userprofile%\Links (any other things in this location are
ignored). Like in Explorer the Links folder can feature links to folders, to files (documents, photos, etc),
and to programs.
Sounds great, just want I'm looking for. I copied a folder to the clip board. Selected the Links folder, and tried:
RightClick>PasteSpecial>PasteAsSymbolicLink << nothing pasted
RightClick>PasteSpecial>PasteAsJunction << pasted show in folder but clicking results in 'Location currently not available'
RightClick>PasteSpecial>PasteAsHardLInk <<NO Only Files
Interestingly, the folder does show up under the Menu Favorites>FavoriteFolders
It seems like creating folder shortcuts is a pretty basic concept but can find no recipe for it. Any help appreciated!
How do you add link to Links Folder?
Re: How do you add link to Links Folder?
Drag'n drop the item on it...
One of my scripts helped you out? Please donate via Paypal
Re: How do you add link to Links Folder?
I tried that and it dropped an icon into Links, but ... alas does not provide a functioning link.
Clicking on the new icon in the Links results in: 'Location currently not available'
BUT: Renaming the new icon to have a *.lnk DID Work.
Thanks, I now have a process to create a shortcut to my favorite directories.
