Can I decide to start xyplorer in user or admin mode (by a switch I presume)?
I can't find it on my own, and if I search for Admin and User, I find Admin or users (which makes sense!).
It feels like it starts on one mode or the other at random (although I presume is the mode at which I've shut-down the last time), and I know I can open in User mode by middle-clicking on the taskbar, but I would prefer less voodoo behavior and better understanding...
Thanks.
start in Admin or User mode
Re: start in Admin or User mode
By default an app starts with normal user privileges and XY has no command line switch to choose.
And there is definitely no voodoo when it comes to this.
If you want to start it with admin permissions (permanently), e.g.: right click XYplorer.exe, properties, compability tab, [x] run this program as an administrator

Re: start in Admin or User mode
Thank you for replying.
Maybe I did not express myself correctly.
I am thinking about what is revealed through <get userrole>, that i use on my titlebar.
And as I (try to) explained on my message, if I middle-click on the windows taskbar, i get the user version...
Sorry if I create confusion.
But my question stands...

Re: start in Admin or User mode
So you want to say that if XY is not running and you middle click its icon on the task bar you'll have "User" in your title bar and if you instead start it with a single left click you'll get "Admin" instead?

Re: start in Admin or User mode
No, my issue was that --without understanding how-- Xyplorer would be open on my desktop in admin mode, but when I open more instances, they would be in user mode, while all the while I expected user mode every time unless I did something specific to open it in admin mode. Now I think I figured it out.
If I update the beta version through the "::update 149" command (in my case), the updated instance would open in Admin, and not user mode...
Thanks for your help.
