Hello!
Is there a script or any other way to make non locked tabs to close after xxx time from opening?
This would be a great tool, as I open many temporary tabs from the locked one, which I never want to keep open and saved as the many layout, so then I have to close them.
thanks
Alex
auto close non locked tabs?
Re: auto close non locked tabs?
Although it is possible to setup a tiny external app on a timer that invokes that task (or maybe task scheduler) at regular intervals it could interrupt you, alternatively you could just use the keyboard shortcut occasionally:
Ctrl+Shift+W
or set the task up as a toolbar button or use it from the tab context menu, anyway below is a script that should be close to what you require (only if you choose to do it manually). I am assuming your main locked tab is in position 1, otherwise modify it:
You'll need to add to the script if you want it to apply to both panes simultaneously.

Re: auto close non locked tabs?
Why don't you:
1. create a tabset with all the tabs you want to keep open
2. open however many temporary tabs until it gets too crowded
3. just use Tabset/Revert to saved and you have your clean slate back
I have several tabsets for different tasks and switch between them as needed.

Btw there's no need to double post in different sections of this forum.

Re: auto close non locked tabs?
By having the tabs you want open and then save it as a tabset, for further info the help file is your friend.
