I installed K-Lite, works fine, but still have no working .MP4 preview in XYPlorer. What could I do. How can I install 32-bit codecs, that XYPlorer needs?

MP4 preview does not work for you on Preview Tab (F12) nor on Preview Panel (Ctrl+F11)?

Installing K-Lite fixed the issue for me.
I have one more question. Is there a way to make video previews jump around to random times without input?
To clarify, I mean to have the video jump around every few seconds or minutes instead of playing start to finish in preview.

No.

But I'm interested to hear why you want to have this. It could be fun, it could be torture...

when previewing what you see is , on the right hand side is 4 blue icons-
white on blue triangle = play
white on blue double || =pause
white square box on blue = stop
white 'A' on blue = Autoplay
above these icons is a Vol: control and above this bar is a greyed out progress bar
if you right button down over the position you want to play from
You get ,what can only be described as a pop up with the words
"click to see position '##.##.###. right click to play/pause"
from this you can see it is already available.
I truly hope this helps you and not confuses you.

My reasoning is that I have many files. Some are very long, some have names that are random, and some are forgettable. The best way I can describe it is like getting a taste test of what you are in for. I believe that YouTube has a function where you hold your mouse over a thumbnail and it plays small clips or stills from said video. Other video providing sites have this sort of function as well. I would find something like this infinitely useful, rather than sifting through everything manually.

Ok, I see. makes sense but might be a little too exotic for a file manager.

There is one feature though in XY that goes a little bit in that direction:
Configuration | Preview | Preview | Video preview | Preview static frame, skip

I am facing this with the Ctrl + F11 / Preview Panel -

In my case F12 brings up Info Panel.

Thoughts?
