Showing Milliseconds Duration For Video Files
Showing Milliseconds Duration For Video Files
The properties for my video files shows hrs:min:sec ... but I also need milliseconds metadata for an SRT macro script I am putting together. Is it possible to configure XYplorer to display hrs:min:sec:milliseconds ?

Re: Showing Milliseconds Duration For Video Files
Msecs are shown in the Preview tab (see Image), and in the Special Properties column "Length".

Thank you for your response. Here is what I see in my Preview tab...
In your screen shot, the video appears to playable... mine is just a thumbnail image. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to set for allowing media files to be playable? Or is there something else I am missing?-

Hm, that's unusual. Are you using the latest version of XYplorer?

Re: Showing Milliseconds Duration For Video Files
Ok. For some reason your system won't preview mp4. Let's do some checking. Paste this into the XYplorer address bar and press ENTER:
Something like this should be returned:
Code: Select all
text get("previewhandler", "mp4");
Code: Select all
GUID: {031EE060-67BC-460d-8847-E4A7C5E45A27}
DefaultName: Windows Media Player Rich Preview Handler
DisplayName: @wmploc.dll,-144

Do you get an mp4 preview in File Explorer?

Re: Showing Milliseconds Duration For Video Files
The preview pane in my Windows File Explorer only shows a still image of a frame from video files. In other words no playable preview of any live video footage.

Okay, then you have to install a Video-Codec that can handle mp4 previews. I don't have a recommendation at hand, but you'll find something in the web. Ensure that there 32-bit compatibility else it won't work with the current version of XYplorer.
