An NAS drive issue
An NAS drive issue
I have an NAS device attached to my router that is mapped to a drive. XYplorer doesn't delete folders on the drive. It will delete files though.

Hi and welcome to the XY forums!
I'm just another user here, but we like to help when we can...I'm sure some of these questions may not help solve your issue, but some may:
1) What OS and XY vers are you using?
2) Are you able to do the function successfully using Windows Explorer?
3) Do you get any type of error code or message? Or does it just do nothing?
4) What brand/type of NAS device is it, and I presume it's NTFS format?
5) Are there any type of permissions that may have an effect on this?
The author, Don, likely may not have a similar setup, but he's normally quite willing to work with users to attempt to resolve their issue.

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Sounds strange to me. Sorry, no idea.PeterT wrote:I have an NAS device attached to my router that is mapped to a drive. XYplorer doesn't delete folders on the drive. It will delete files though.

A NAS drive issue
Similar and other issues with NAS drives. XY rarely lists all files and folders in 'File List' and 'Tree'. The Search stops well before it has tried all files and folders; like there is a time limit on searching (?)
I've tried almost everything.
Windoze Explorer continues searching for many seconds (sometimes up to 45s) but XY stops in under 5s with very few results.
This is a sufficiently large issue that I can't deploy XY across the enterprise!
WinXP SP2
XY 6.8
FAT32
Thoughts?
Other than that, good prog.

There is no time limit in searching.
I can't go into this now, but will come back to it later.

Re: An NAS drive issue
Can you find some time to get back to this? XYPlorer has some great features but if it can't find files, it's value is tremendously diminished. Any clues or hints? I have tried everything I can think of...
