Floating preview

Post by eskyklee »

Hi!
I scan the receipts to .jpg, then change the filename while looking at the floating preview.
After changing the file name, the up and down keys move to another file, but the floating preview does not change.
(Doing “down & more down key” will change the floating preview.)
After the XYplorer update a while ago, up & down keys does not change the floating preview.
Use the up or down key once to cause the floating preview to change.
Best regards,
Y.K. Lee

I cannot reproduce it. :|

1) Are you using the current version of XY?
2) Can you reproduce the behavior with a factory default setup?

My version is 20.60.0100 & Factory default setup.
A few months ago there was no problem. The problem occurs after the new version update.

If you can't fix it
I'm very inconvenient and want to use an older version.

How do you rename the file that's currently being previewed in the Floating Preview?

Click the file name to change the number,
Use the arrow keys (down) to change the next file name
At this time, the floating preview is not changed.
In the past, it was changed by pressing immediately the arrow key (down).
Give it a try.

You mean you are using this feature?: Configuration | General | Sort and Rename | Rename | Serial rename by Up and Down keys

It is not related to the configuration.

My work is simple.
1. Scan several receipts (jpeg file)
2. Change the filename to the date of the receipt while viewing the Floating Preview.
3. Change the next file name with the arrow keys (down), where Floating Preview continues to show the previous file.
Press the arrow key (down) and you should have a preview of the next file. :D

Hm, I cannot reproduce it.

Could you send a screenshot of the whole situation please?

Chiming in here with something to try. I'm not having the same problem but it might be related. Once I engage floating preview, when I move to the next file, the view is empty - a blank grey slate. If I resize the view then the preview comes back to life.

Strange indeed. I can't repro in the clean VM I'm testing the PDF thumbnail issue in. But, here's what it looks like on my primary machine.

A questionable fix would be to always grown/shrink the preview by 1 pixel every time

Yeah, it's weird, I can't reproduce it either. Do you think you could make screenshots? The best option would be to record it and post a youtube video, but that's quite the hassle.

You're right, I'm stupid, I didn't know screencast and didn't try to click the link, sorry! I'll see what I can do on my computer.
