I have ABviewer, a program which views different formats of cad files
My question is it possible to use this program to view say 'plt' files within XYplorer much the same as XYplorer uses PDF-XChange Editor to view pdf files
Cheers

How to view cad files
Re: How to view cad files
You need to find a preview handler that is able to work with this file format.
ABViewer is just a program and doesn't seem to provide one...

Re: How to view cad files
Hi Notts,
We're in the same boat looking for a CAD handler to preview them in XYplorer, so if you come up with anything then please let me know, and I'll do the same. I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount for a good viewer with some simple tools, but I don't need a full CAD program for my work and the full-feature products are expensive. If it's free and does the job, even better!
Stay in touch, Regards, Kevin

Re: How to view cad files
This should be history with the latest versions that have full 64-bit preview support.

Re: How to view cad files
HI Donald,
Thanks for your post but I want to be sure that I understand it. Should we be able to preview a .dwg file directly or we still need a handler program of some type? I tried a .dwg file but it was still not previewable, and I never found a handler to install.
However, not such a big deal now because I can ask for the drawings in PDF format and that works well enough for my purposes.
Thanks and stay safe, Kevin

Re: How to view cad files
You need a handler, but now it can be a 64-bit handler.

Re: How to view cad files
QuickViewPlus (the old v13 version, don't ask me where to get it) works fine as a preview handler for .dwg...
