Show Hover Box Info other than filename
Show Hover Box Info other than filename
I'm not seeing any other info on hovering over files other than the file name. Does anyone else have that problem today or is it just me? Yesterday or the day before all was fine in that I could see all the other info like camera, model, dimensions, etc for a photo file (jpg). This is the case whether I'm hovering the filename in a thumbnail view of an icon in detailed view. I don't recall changing any settings and have checked them over again in Configuration.

Re: Show Hover Box
Can't confirm, sorry. Is this with the latest stable or latest beta version?
Re: Show Hover Box
I'm always using the latest beta...now v20.20.0102. Thanks.

Re: Show Hover Box Info other than filename
I reverted back to a some older non-beta releases and still have the same problem. To clarify, I do have a hover box and it shows the file name but none of the other info I have checked off in Configuration | File Info Tips | Show Hover Box and Show Custom File Info Tips. I did update to Windows 10 Pro 1903 Build a couple of days ago. I'm not sure how or if this could be responsible, but that's all I can think of that may have affected Hover Box. Anyone else on Windows 10 Pro version 1903 and seeing this issue? Any other setting or tweak that may be causing this behavior?

Edited 2: Can't confirm in 1903 with a fresh install of latest stable.

Re: Show Hover Box Info other than filename
Good morning,
I am unable to confirm this. I am on Windows 10 Pro 1903 x64 (all latest patches) using the latest XY beta. I see all the features of the Hover Box (I don't normally have it enabled). I enabled it and tried a variety of setting combinations and all appear to be working as expected. I also have all my tabs/panes in Detail view. I switched a few over to some different ones (including the one you listed) and the Hover Box works there as well.

Re: Show Hover Box Info other than filename
Thanks for checking guys. I should have checked a fresh instance earlier. It is working properly on a fresh instance but still only the filename on my normal version for some reason.

Re: Show Hover Box Info other than filename
Well, I went through every "hover" setting in XYplorer.ini and compared them to corresponding values in a "fresh" XYplorer.ini. It was the setting
HoverBoxStatus=1
. When I changed that to "0" HoverBox worked as expected. I'm not sure what that setting equates to in Configuration if any. I know I didn't change it. Thanks again.Windows 11, 23H2 Build 22631.3447 at 100% 2560x1440

Re: Show Hover Box Info other than filename
You can cycle the status area of the Hover Box thru 3 states by pressing the S-key while the box is showing.

Re: Show Hover Box Info other than filename
So that's what must of happened (i.e., I must have inadvertently hit the "s" key when hovering) as simple as that. Cycling through the options with the "s" key then changes the HoverBoxStatus= value. I recall you adding that feature now that you've mentioned it. Thanks Don.
